I graduated from the University of Delaware in May of 2006 with a B.S. in
Biochemistry. In August of 2006, I entered UNC as a PhD student through the
IBMS program. In May of 2007, I officially became a part of the Cell and
Molecular Pathology program.
I am currently working in the labs of both Susan Lord and Alisa Wolberg. I
am interested in studying risk factors that may lead to venous
thromboembolism (VTE). Although much research has been done on arterial
thrombosis, venous thrombosis and VTE is still poorly understood.
Therefore, my research will help to elucidate different combinations of
components of an individualšs blood plasma that may put one at risk for VTE.
