Placement of UNC Residents (2002–2007)

 
Trainees completing the UNC Residency Program in Pathology have had excellent job opportunities awaiting them. The job placements for our trainees completing the Program since 2002 are outlined below.

 
  • Of the three residents who completed our AP/CP residency training program in June, 2002, all completed subspecialty fellowship training (Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology) and are now in private practice.
  • Of the four residents completing residency training in June, 2003, all pursued fellowships (two in Dermatopathology, two in Forensic Pathology). Two took positions in private practice, and two took positions as state medical examiners.
  • Of the four residents completing residency training in June, 2004, all pursued subspecialty fellowship training (Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology) and three are now in private practice.
  • Of the four residents completing residency training in June, 2005, one took an academic position at a university medical center and three took positions in private practice after completing subspecialty fellowships (two in Cytopathology and one in Surgical Pathology and Dermatopathology).
  • Of the three residents completing residency training in June, 2006, all pursued subspecialty fellowship training in Surgical Pathology. One has taken a position in private practice, one has an academic appointment, and one is in a Dermatopathology fellowship.
  • Of the three residents completing residency training in June, 2007, all are pursuing subspecialty fellowship training (two in Cytopathology, one in Surgical Pathology).
